First there was..
Quack the duck, then Hoss the rabbit, and now its Owlet the puppet (aka hootie) that never leaves my little girls side. These hand puppets by Folkmanis are pretty amazing characters. Started by a mom and pop 31 years ago, they have grown to become the leading manufacturer of plush puppets worldwide. The designs are really life like and are available in just about every animal imaginable. They’re educational in the way that they teach kids the different species of wild life, and even better they spark creativity. However, in Leni’s case they’re most useful for cuddling.

Cars by Tom Frost
kids’ sites somehow brought me to Boxbird, a Brighten gallery that was founded by print enthusiast Alice Carter and illustrator Graham Carter. They showcase talent from some of the finest illustrators in the UK like Fiona Hewitt, Jon Burgerman, Sally Elford, and Tom Frost – to name just a few. Boxbird’s online store has a whimsical assortment full of unique pieces like these wooden cars by Tom Frost. They are made from layers of carved plywood, which are coated with a hand screen-printed skin. The wheels are vintage Mecano, they come in a custom made box and are available in the four designs shown. Loving the old-school feel and attention to detail – very cool!
pi'lo Tooth Pillow $15
loosing a tooth was the highlight of your month? Heck, maybe year – depending on how quickly they were falling out. What an exciting thought, a little fairly was going to fly into your room in the middle of the night and replace that silly tooth with money! Well, these little tooth pillows makes a pretty momentous experience even more special.. they are just so sweet. It’s by a Canadian designer, Heather Shaw, whose brand is pi’lo. All pieces are handsewn in her studio with the hope that each item will be passed down to future generations. Given the fact that they are sewn from durable fabrics like hemp, linen and made with love, they certainly are sure to become heirlooms.
Little Vintage Jumper
French store, Little Vintage is just adorable. I don’t know how I came across the site, but was initially drawn to the vintage toys, like wooden carriages from the 1940’s and old-school desk and chair sets, but after clicking around, saw they also have some really sweet clothes for little ones. Also vintage and very French!
