with the Tavolino wood framed table. The geometric shapes and bold colors create endless entertainment for young kids. The innovative table is designed by artist, early childhood educator, and toy historian, Karen Hewitt. She founded the company Learning Materials Workshop in Vermont back in 1979. I stumbled upon this awesome learning tool through the wonderful kids design and lifestyle blog Paul & Paula, definitely one bookmark.

Rody

If you’ve..

Rody

got kids, then Rody is probably already on your radar. However, if Rody is new to you, then it may just be the best gift to give a kid. Kind of a funny but slightly freaky pony type, this ride on toy offers endless entertainment. It’s made in Italy, comes in 13 different colors, and it helps to develop coordination and balance. Yes, another kid item added our home decor, but something I don’t necessarily mind hanging out in our living room.

Edouard Scooter

Moulin Roty Edouard Scooter, $189

Moulin Roty Edouard Scooter, $189

in France by Moulin Roty, a French brand that has two distinct collections: one is full of colorful, fun, plush toys and accessories; the other, classic consisting of more traditional wooden toys and pieces. While both assortments have a ton of charm and are perfect gifts, I’m drawn to the look and feel of some of the wooden pieces, like this little scooter. It’s handcrafted from solid beech wood and has a wicker basket perfect for storing toys and other knick-knacks while scooting around. The seat and basket are lined with a striped fabric that’s natural & red in tones, so pretty much gender neutral and pretty much sure to be a hit.

becoming firewood, seriously. This wood camera is made in New Hampshire from hardwoods that were going to be used as firewood. It features a movable lens, see-thru view finder, nylon cord and is finished in food grade tung oil. It’s sold at ROMP, an online store for little ones that is worth checking out. Super cute toys that promote learning and are handmade from natural materials.
