Guest Hunter, Joyce Hwang

Met..

Guest Hunter, Joyce Hwang

Guest Hunter, Joyce Hwang

our Guest Hunter, Joyce Hwang when we worked together a while back. She’s one of those people who’s super easy-going, always smiling and has fun with her style. Joyce was born and raised in Hong Kong, moved to the States to attend Northwestern University and then headed to New York to start her career in the fashion industry. Currently she’s living in Hong Kong where she’s Product Merchandiser for The Outnet (China) and in a few months will be moving to Shanghai to continue to work for the Net-a-Porter subsidiary.

For Joyce and fashion, no two days are the same.  It’s a great way to “transform and innovate” she says.  “One day I feel like being a hippie, the next day a business woman, the next a rocker.” She describes her style as “eccentric – easy looks with unexpected mixes while still feeling like myself and wearing clothes that make me happy”. She’s an individual and onto trends way before most, so KEEP READING to get schooled from this star.

Guest Hunter, Caroline Maguire

Super excited..

Guest Hunter, Caroline Maguire

Guest Hunter, Caroline Maguire

to introduce Caroline Maguire, this week’s Guest Hunter! She is a fashion director at a major department store and we met when I worked in their merchandising department a couple of years ago now. Caroline’s a transplant from California and while she does love the city, she is always smiling and her laid back West Coast roots definitely shine through. She recently got married (congrats!) and loves eating at the latest restaurant with friends or cooking dinner for her husband. It’s no surprise Caroline works in fashion – she always looks amazing and believes in the notion that if you look good, you feel good. She admits being stylish and trendy does not always mean you have to wear designers from head to toe. With Caroline, it’s all about mixing vintage, main store brands and designer pieces. Her style comes across as effortless, fabulous and as a fun way for her to express herself. Caroline’s a total individual, super adorable and extremely talented. Kitsuné Fall/Winter 2011

Jumping ahead to fall..

Kitsuné Fall/Winter 2011

Kitsuné Fall/Winter 2011

even though I am greatly enjoying the warm weather. I don’t know how I stumbled upon this, but I like the rugged yet polished look of the men’s Fall/Winter 2011 collection from Kitsuné. It’s a tribute to “Brokeback Mountain” and was inspired by the west American style from the 60’s. The high quality fabric used and the detailed tailoring are what make these garments exceptional. Carried in shops like Opening Ceremony and Mr. Porter, Kitsuné has also collaborated with some fine names like Yoshida, Petit Bateau, Flouzen and Pierre Hardy. Here are some more looks from Fall/Winter 2011:
