Some great..

The Penny Swim Stripe Pocket Tee

pieces for the guys at Penny Stock Clothing. Any of the tanks, tees or comfy pants they offer would make nice companions to espadrilles or sneakers. Styles pretty much any guy can wear, and the prices are just right.

Buckshot Sonny’s

Getting lost..

on the internet is a great thing because you find stuff like this. Buckshot Sonny’s is a shop founded by Joe Gannon and Max Wastler, that pays tribute to the sporting goods stores from back in the day. The shelves are stocked with new, vintage and dead stock sporting goods and other general goods too. They have also wisely teamed up with Pointer Brand to deliver a few nifty pieces like the camouflage chore coat and mesh caps. I’m quite certain this is somewhere my grandfather would have shopped, and is a spot my husband would shop today. A commonplace for all ages looking for comfortable yet modern workwear.

Mark McNairy

I’ve been hearing..

Mark McNairy New Amsterdam

Mark McNairy New Amsterdam

a lot of chatter about Mark McNairy, and not just from all of the press he’s been getting. Nick, my husband, has been going on and on about how awesome this designer is. From Mark McNairy’s down right cool footwear label, Mark McNairy New Amsterdam, to the smart collaborations with other labels like A Continous Lean, this designer is on point. His collections are cutting edge while still remaining fun and wearable. Not an easy thing to achieve.

However, since Nick needed instant gratification while dreaming of which pair of Mark McNairy shoes he’d like to to be in his closet, he ordered our girl a tee…she’s already got a lil’ swagger.

Head Porter Plus Check Shirts

to classic American style is what Japanese brand, Head Porter Plus‘ fall/winter 2011 collection is all about. The line is full of well-made, wearable items like thick knit sweaters, updated chinos, bold plaids, and solid basics – pretty much everything a guy needs heading into the cooler months. Practical pieces that are simple and clean with just the right amount of detail; certainly in line with the Japanese aesthetic. Pretty much the entire collection is worth noting.

Kitsuné Fall/Winter 2011

Jumping ahead to fall..

Kitsuné Fall/Winter 2011

Kitsuné Fall/Winter 2011

even though I am greatly enjoying the warm weather. I don’t know how I stumbled upon this, but I like the rugged yet polished look of the men’s Fall/Winter 2011 collection from Kitsuné. It’s a tribute to “Brokeback Mountain” and was inspired by the west American style from the 60’s. The high quality fabric used and the detailed tailoring are what make these garments exceptional. Carried in shops like Opening Ceremony and Mr. Porter, Kitsuné has also collaborated with some fine names like Yoshida, Petit Bateau, Flouzen and Pierre Hardy. Here are some more looks from Fall/Winter 2011:

A jacket..

that could easily be shared between guys and girls. The Sea Slicker by Steven Alan is such a clever piece because it folds into itself, making it easy to shove into your tote when your not using it. Lightweight and a perfect layering piece for the unpredictable transitional months.
