Monikako Safari Shorts

A brand..

Monikako Safari Shorts

Monikako Safari Shorts

out of Spain that has a bunch of must-haves for little ones.  Monikako is full of super cute and rather cool styles with a ton of personality. The first piece that caught my eye are these Safari Shorts (or bloomers), but the whole collection is pretty much right on trend. Another easy, but oh-so stylish assortment perfect for these warm summer months.

Baja Surf Poncho

Baja Surf Poncho

baja surf poncho brings me back to the days when I was young and spent summers hanging out on the beach. Actually the whole collection from boy+girl makes me want to be a kid again. Designed in Venice Beach, this line delivers comfy pieces made with natural fabrics of the highest quality. At Playtime NY, Megan and I had the chance to swoon over the styles from fall/holiday 2012 and meet the super cool creator of the brand, Christine Chang. But no need to jump ahead, check out more from spring/summer here.

The Mini Social

to The Mini Social. I get to buy my daughter all of the brands I love, for prices that fit my budget. This amazing site was started by two savvy friends and offers stylish, high-quality clothing and accessories for kids at discount prices. My favorite score to date being (the below) Peas and Queues dress. Megan and I were thrilled when we were recently asked to do a Q&A on The Mini Social blog, so if you haven’t already, check it out. But I’m warning you, once you start shopping here, you won’t be able stop.

Mini Rodini

It’s impossible..

Pineapple Swimsuit

Pineapple Swimsuit

not to do a post on the new spring/summer ’12 collection from Mini Rodini. Although I’m among many in the blog world showing the love to this awesome kids brand, it is just too good to pass up. Mini Rodini makes clothes that are comfortable and undeniably loveable. The fruit monkey sweatshirt is so clever, the map wing dress is fun, and I can’t seem to get that pineapple swimsuit out of my head. Is it obvious I’m obsessed?

Scout vs Scout

Almost want..

Vintage Levi's Jacket

Vintage Kid's Jean Jacket with Pendleton Blanket Back

to keep this one all to myself, but I think it’s too good not to share. Scout vs Scout is filled with all kinds of vintage kids clothes and accessories like engineer stripe overalls, mini Pendleton pillows and old-school jean jackets. I’m also loving this Barbour style waxed coat that would look sweet on a little girl or boy. The more you delve into this gem of an Etsy store, the better it gets – so have fun!

Little Esop

A fun..

Longsleever

Building Blocks Long Sleever

Pocket Legging

Building Blocks Pocket Legging

Overalls

Skipping Pants

and wearable kids clothing line called Little Esop. Judy Posey designs the line that has really great basics for kids. Styles like the building blocks leggings, tops and rompers hold up to lots of rough play and laundry sessions (given as a gift & tried & tested by my very own). In need of a little styling inspiration for the kids? Take a look at the ‘favorite outfits for fall‘ category at the Little Esop Store. Also came across this post on their blog, and as someone who has worked in production, I thought it gives some interesting insight on what goes into developing one little garment.

Suvi Ainoa

Committed..

Black 'Wings' Linen Coat, $112

Black 'Wings' Linen Coat, $112

to style and sustainability, Suvi Ainoa is a line you’ve got to know about. The name is Finnish, Suvi means “summer” and Ainoa, “the only one”. The brand is all about creating products that aren’t following trends, but pieces that are “useful, minimal and still beautiful” – all of which they’ve managed to accomplish. Oh, and possibly an unintentional buzz, as these pieces are sure to turn some heads and let kids express their individuality.

Kidscase

Founded in 2000..

Kidscase Bob Turtle

Kidscase Bob Turtle

launched in 2001, Kidscase is the work of designer Jacqueline van Nieuwkerk and marketer Merel Verbrugge in Amsterdam. They were (and continue to be) about creating a line for boys and girls up to the age of eleven that fit today’s lifestyle. Simple pieces, many made from organic fabrics and all with great detail.  In their words “comfortable, wearable, sophisticated, and radiating style and cool chic”. Enough said.
