Ada Ada

Introduced..

Ada Ada AW11

Ada Ada AW11

to Ada Ada by the lovely kids’ store Shuk-Shaka. The contemporary line is designed by three sisters and is full of high quality clothing for boys and girls from 0-6 years old. They use natural fabrics, simple designs and a clean color palette. The result is a collection that’s very wearable and super stylish. For Ada Ada, every season is an adventure and AW11 is no exception.  The talented trio drew inspiration from children, focusing on their bravery and playful imaginations.  The fall delivery is full of bold prints, unique fabrics including “suede like” knits and superb detail. The line’s got sophistication and just the right amount of edge, pretty much total perfection.

Thomas Sires

If you..

Thomas Sires

Thomas Sires

live in New York and haven’t been to Thomas Sires on Elizabeth Street, you’re missing out. Fiona Thomas and Alison Sires, both with years of experience in the fashion industry, partnered to open this fantastic shop last holiday season. They have their own line of women’s apparel and a small assortment of very sweet clothing for little ones. In addition, the shop carries an amazingly curated assortment of jewelry, giftables and home products. The women’s collection is full of versatile pieces that are made from beautiful fabrics. All with wonderful details and great fits. Fall 2011 is now in stores, and much like previous seasons, it continues to deliver with innovation and style – from fleece sweatshirts to more dressy, tailored pieces. Everything is super wearable and because pieces are produced by Thomas Sires, you’re guaranteed to not see it all over town.. another plus. Definitely not just another shop in Nolita.

Mini Rodini

First look..

Mini Rodini Velvet Cap
Mini Rodini Velvet Cap
at Mini Rodini’s fall collection!  This amazing brand out of Sweden was founded in 2006 by illustrator Cassandra Rhodin. Her inspiration came from her great grandfather, the legendary circus king Brazil Jack, and her line reflects what the name conjures up.  It’s totally fashionable, carefree, a bit whimsical, and made with sustainability in mind.  Quality clothing that little ones are pretty much psyched to wear. With all of the great prints and wearable silhouettes, it’s hard to not want to scoop up the whole collection.

LN-CC

The transition..

LN-CC, Fall 2011

LN-CC, Fall 2011

from summer to fall is always kind of fun for me. I LOVE summer, but as the stores start filling their shelves with deliveries from the upcoming season, it’s kind of hard not to get excited. After a few months of summer in the city, the cooler weather and the ability to wear bulky sweaters, leather jackets and loose fitting trousers (without have to bundle up too much) is kind of great. I’ve been thinking about fall since the meetings started to discuss the trends and key pieces but seeing the latest arrivals from UK shop, LN-CC, is really getting me quite excited for the cooler temperatures. With brands like Jil Sander, Christopher Waller, Junya Watanabe, Ohne Titel, P.A.M., Pow Wow, Maison Martin Margiela, and so many more it’s kind of hard not to be at least a little bit psyched.. right?

Kimberly Ovitz Fall 2011 Presentation

is in full swing. Just got back from the Kim Ovitz presentation at Pace Gallery in Chelsea. As always, great mix of people and the collection looked really strong. The pieces are super wearable.. a bit more color than we saw for Spring. Can’t wait for the grey wrap sweater in the pic below – by far my favorite piece.. the blue jumper’s a close second though!

J Brand Fall 2010 Ad Style

A major..

J Brand Fall 2010 Ad Style

J Brand Fall 2010 Ad Style

source of inspiration for my cooler weather wardrobe was the Fall 2010 ad style from J Brand. I fell in love with it immediately and decided that instead of falling victim to one of the big trends of the season, I’d keep it simple. My wardrobe was going to be all about solid colored tees and tanks, skinny pants and good accessories like the Pyramid Stud Cuff by Shayan Afshar and red lipstick. I loved the sleek fit, gold hardware and just really wanted them.. I looked on a weekly basis waiting for them to become available online. Unfortunately I have yet to find them. Regardless, they were the inspiration for the way I’ve been dressing the past few months.
