even just looking at the pieces from The Velvet Bird make me feel pretty. Anything with a loose silhouette and peter pan collar instantly gets my attention, like these White Lola, Bookworm or Seafarer Dresses. They’re made to order and the prices are kind of amazing too. What’s even better is that 20% of all profits on handmade items go to Love146.org to fight and prevent human trafficking in the U.S. I’m smitten.

Honey in the Rough Online Shop
shopping experience at the Honey in the Rough online shop. The revamped website is as inviting as the store itself, and a very close second to the in-house shopping experience. What can I say, Honey in the Rough is one of my favorite shops in NYC, and it’s no secret that Ashley Hanosh curates the most amazing assortment. Just a little over 3 years ago I bought my wedding dress here! With a covetable mix of clothing, jewelry and apothecary goods, it’s hard not to want it all in your closet. Take a look at the new design of Honey in the Rough.

I am headed out of town to attend a wedding, one I am actually very much looking forward to. The setting will be serene and beautiful as it’s being held on a horse farm. Like a true procrastinator I have waited until the last minute to find a dress, and to add to the challenge I like pieces that are versatile yet also comfortable. It’s a day wedding so I think I can go a bit more casual, but if the weather is anything like last week I need to dress thoughtfully. I think I’ve got it narrowed down to a few options, so here is what I am considering as my wedding attire.
Pixie Market Dress
The color of this dress is just lovely, available at Pixiemarket.
- Tsumori Chisato
I fawn over anything Tsumori Chisato, and find her whimsical dresses a fun alternative to black. Although the price tag is quite hefty, they can usually be dressed up or down to get the most use out of them.
Silk Sheer Top
Sheer Pleated Skirt
Flowy, light and two pieces that can definitely be integrated into the rest of my wardrobe. Both top and skirt from Mikkat Market.
On a side note, I am planning to get the happy couple one of these as their gift.
Mabo Smocked Dress $45 & Drawstring Pants $45
great pieces from Mabo, a kids’ clothing line that designs and produces all pieces somewhere in the USA. Items are made from quality, natural fabrics – linens and cottons in the summer months and soft wools for the cooler temperatures. Regardless of the season, pieces have a classic feel that also manages to be contemporary and completely adorable. Definitely a site to bookmark.
Mabo Gingham Kerchief $15
Mabo Linen Shift Dress $65
