does another collaboration, and this time it is with Missoni. It might take someone with original style to pull these off, but if you happen to be one of those guys – pat yourself on the back and head to Trés Bien Shop to find this statement sneaker.

Filson + Apolis Philanthropist Briefcase

It’s kind of..

Filson + Apolis Philanthropist Briefcase, $396

Filson + Apolis Philanthropist Briefcase, $396

shocking how hard finding a good briefcase can be.  Thankfully, the Filson x Apolis collaboration is bringing us a good one.  Their Philanthropist Briefcase is handcrafted in Seattle.  It’s made from black canvas, has inside/outside pockets, leather bridle handles as well as an adjustable leather strap (that’s also removable). Good brass hardware and the ideal silhouette. Pretty seasonless too.

Red Wing Heritage x Nigel Cabourn “Munson Boot”

Hitting..

Red Wing Heritage x Nigel Cabourn "Munson Boot"

select retailers next fall is the Munson Boot – a Nigel Cabourn and Red Wing Heritage collaboration. The two teamed up to make a very practical shoe that was inspired by British Army combat boots from World War 1. Both companies are industry experts, so combining their expertise and knowledge results in a boot that is good looking, rugged and ready to be worn.  It features oiled roughout leather (which means the flesh side is facing out, so it’s ideal for waterproofing) and will be offered in two colors; a light-brown Hawthorne Muleskinner as well as the darker Chocolate Muleskinner. Both colorways come with deep green thick leather shoelaces, matching eyelets and my personal fav  – army green Harris tweed lining. A quality boot that’s going to last.

Master Piece X Smith + Butler

Seems like..

City Bag

Back Pack

everyone is collaborating these days, and one not to miss out on is the partnership between Master Piece and Smith + Butler. They’re delivering some functional and cool back packs that simply come in brick or black. The cotton fabric is treated with paraffin coating, and all of the materials only get better with age. Leaves me wanting more.

H&M x “The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo”

You can’t..

H&M x "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo"

H&M x "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo"

do a commute in New York City without seeing someone reading a copy of the international best seller “The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo”.  I’d heard another adaptation of the film would be hitting theaters in December but just learned that on December 14th a clothing line inspired by the book will be arriving at 175 lucky H&M stores worldwide.  The capsule collection was created by the costume designer Trish Summerville. It consists of 30-pieces and is described by the LA Times as “gothy and gritty”. From the looks of it, it’s got that Swedish aesthetic. Simple, rich textures, dark colors, and silhouettes that are slightly androgynous. So December 14th ladies, mark your calendar.

Orly Genger

Could..

Orly Genger

Orly Genger

this be the new chunky necklace? Orly Genger is a collaboration between jeweler Jaclyn Mayer and artist Orly Genger. Genger is known for her large-scale rope sculptures and Mayer’s line of jewelry has been sold at stores like Barney’s. The talented duo teamed up to create a line of jewelry that uses mediums not always associated with jewelry like soft fabrics and rope. With the addition of metals, the result is stunning pieces of art that are sure to add a pop to just about any outfit. Anything but ordinary and oh-so cool.

Aloha Rag X Converse Zip High-Top Sneaker

Apparently..

Aloha Rag X Converse Zip High-Top $120.00

Aloha Rag X Converse Zip High-Top $120.00

this isn’t the only collaboration Aloha Rag will be doing to celebrate their 20th anniversary, but it is the first.  The Hawaiian retail store that opened in ’91 has gained quite a following over the past 2 decades. They carry those hard to find, “it” brands in the world of contemporary fashion like Lanvin, Martin Margiela, Thomas Wylde, and Alexander Wang as well as young talent from around the world. Since it’s debut Aloha Rag has expanded – in addition to their Hawaii location, they have a boutique on Greenwich Street in New York as well as an online shop offers an awesome assortment of merchandise and membership perks.  A limited run was made of this Converse X Aloha Rag collaboration, 140 pairs to be exact, so don’t think about it for too long or you’ll miss out!

Shabd Pack

The search..

Baggu x Shabd Backpack

Shabd Pack

for the essential summer bag is over. I tend to gravitate towards carryalls that have lots of room, can easily store my computer and are on the less expensive side. I have been all about backpacks lately, a little bit nerdy but a lot practical. I was thrilled to see the collaboration between two brands that produced this pack. Baggu is a staple in reusable bags, and designer Shabd Simon-Alexander is a master of dyeing fabric. The Shabd Pack is made from recycled cotton duck canvas, and nothing me happier in fashion than tie-dye. But, if the daypack is just too reminiscent of your younger years you care not to revisit, it’s also available in the chic Shabd Tote.

Talache Sneakers

Never would’ve guessed..

Nike Sportswear x Steven Alan Talache Sneaker $115

Nike Sportswear x Steven Alan Talache Sneaker $115

that Nike would collaborate with New York designer Steven Alan, but they did. And given the fact that both brands are pretty darn cool, it’s no surprise the outcome is a line of sneakers that have been really well received since their debut a few months back. The unlikely duo partnered up to update several of Nike’s signature styles. Result: shoes that use the Nike technology known for with surprising twists signature of Steven Alan; available in exclusive fabrications and colorways. Updated classics, can’t complain.
