to get back into the swing of things when so many people close by are still affected by the hurricane. A noticeable common theme has been that many people want to help out in some way, including us here at threetwentyeight. Other bloggers (a go-to has been Bklyn or Beyond), facebook, word of mouth and newsletters have all been great resources. So of course monetary donations are always great, but there are other ways to pitch in… donate blood, gather/purchase toiletries, (think of the things YOU use on a daily basis), adopt an abandoned pet, organize a diaper drive or just check on an elderly neighbor. There are so many out there still suffering, and people helping people is really what it’s all about.

It’s no secret..
No. 6 Huarache Heels
that we both love the No. 6 clog boots, but then again who doesn’t? Now I’m looking forward to the warm weather and these Huarache Heels. I’m crushing on the marine color because it can pretty much be a companion to anything in your closet, throughout the four seasons. All of the No. 6 clogs are super comfortable, but the wedge style just takes it to a new level. An investment you won’t regret.
We’ve been hitting the beach..
Dark and Stormy
by day and the Dark and Stormy’s by night on this vacation. This refreshing drink has been our cocktail of choice, and they’re flowing quite freely. It’s a Bermuda original and is super simple to make. We used Gosling’s Rum and Barritts Ginger Beer. If you really want to get serious with this drink, you can make your own ginger beer (for a how-to click here.) Find the Dark and Stormy recipe below:
2 ounces dark rum
4-6 ounces ginger beer
1/2 ounce fresh lime juice (optional)
Combine the rum, ginger beer, and the lime juice (optional) in a tall glass filled with lots of ice cubes. Add lime wedge to garnish. Stir and serve.
