Isabel Marant Hamil Tunic
and I’m already over winter, especially since I’m not too fond of it to begin with. I know the warm weather isn’t exactly right around the corner, but when spring arrives, I am picturing myself living in this light and flowy Hamil Tunic from Isabel Marant. In fact, I’d love to stock my entire closet with everything and anything from this designer. Ahhh, if only money were no object.
ManiaMania THE SOURCE Bangle, $360
that’s available for preorder and one to get on asap. THE SOURCE Bangle is another smart creation from the talented duo, Melanie Kamsler and Tamila Purvis, the team behind Australian accessories label ManiaMania. Not only does it look cool (it’s got a double tusk-shaped Fossil stone that’s set in a bangle with an adjoining chain), this bangle does good. According to the site, Fossil stone is known for having a calming, soothing energy. It’s also promotes communication, helps to motivate, inspires creativity, and helps to give direction and the stamina needed to get things done. The perfect accessory and might even help me accomplish pretty much everything I set out to do in 2012.
Jackalope Jewelry Holder
this jackalope jewelry holder. Megan kindly gifted it to me for my birthday, and I instantly fell in love with it’s whimsy. I’ve been looking for something to neatly hold my rings, necklaces and earrings, so they don’t end up becoming a tangled mess. The jackalope comes from imm-living, where you can also find the always fun best year wine stoppers. They’ve got tons of playful designs for the home like the totem cups, hunter’s den trays, and stacking games that are perfect for entertaining.
Dusen Dusen Maze and Cutouts Pillows, $50
like pillows, prints, books, and kitschy knick-knacks are always on my radar. They’re a great way to update a space without breaking the bank or making too crazy of an investment. So no surprise these pillows are getting harder and harder for me to resist. They are by Ellen Dusen, the Brooklyn-based textile designer and the name behind Dusen Dusen. Exclusively sold at the one and only Of a Kind.

NY Chili Fest 2012
a Chili Fest tomorrow at Chelsea Market. Tickets to the event are available online and they give you access to all the chili, beer and live music one can possibly consume. The beer is provided by Samuel Adams, the chili is from some of the top chefs and restaurants in the city and The Dixons will be the entertainment. If that alone doesn’t do it, Dickson’s Farmstand Meats is supplying 100% dry-aged, locally-raised beef from Wrighteous Organics. Ticket proceeds go to Food Systems NYC, an organization that’s dedicated to building a local farm and food economy. My suggestion? Skip brunch, go hungry.

Heartbreaking Dawns Classic Gold Hot Sauce
to try Heartbreaking Dawns hot sauce. Just ordered some last night, and my two picks were classic gold and 1498 trinidad scorpion sauce. After getting tons of praise, and seeing Johnny McLaughlin (a high school pal) on the show Chopped, making the purchase has been on my to-do list ever since. I hear it’s got tons of heat but lots of flavor too – I definitely could have used this on the stir fry dish I made last night. Anxiously awaiting the arrival of this tasty condiment.

Felted Wool Mobile
and eco-friendly felted wool mobile. These are all one of a kind, and would make a really thoughtful gift for a new mom who doesn’t want to fill her home with the standard baby gear (that was me!). You can also celebrate the month your baby was born with a mobile from part of the birth month series. Sqrl & Bee Studio makes pretty things that would bring a welcome sense of tranquility to any nursery.
