Hot Toddy

first cold of the season last week. Although it was an after thought this time around, next time I get bit with the bug I’m going to make myself a nice Hot Toddy. It’s been rumored as a great remedy for soothing a sore throat, and relieving the symptoms of a cold (obviously only for those who are legal to enjoy a cocktail). Although it’s prepared all different ways, the hot toddy is very easy to make. For some other variations, check out recipes from Alton Brown, Amanda Hesser and Cooking Light.

Ingredients:

1 1/2 ounces Whiskey
1 ounce Honey
1/3 ounce Lemon Juice
3 ounces Hot Water
1 cinnamon stick (optional)

Directions:

Stir lemon juice and honey into hot water, allow to cool slightly. Add whiskey. Enjoy.
