because it’s been confirmed. On May 10, 2012 the Metropolitan Museum’s Costume Institute will exhibit designs by Miuccia Prada and the late Elsa Schiaparelli. As you can imagine after McQueen’s ‘Savage Beauty’ exhibit last spring/summer, the announcement is already creating quite a buzz. So start packing that overnight bag because if the lines are anything like what they were for the McQueen exhibit, it’ll be a bit of a wait, to say the least. According to WWD, there will be 80 designs from the two Italian designers including pieces by Schiaparelli from the late 20’s to the early 50’s and by Prada from the late 80’s through present day.  Although both created during different eras and their work hasn’t necessarily been influenced by one another, they both are icons in the world of fashion.  Two strong women who challenged fashion. For that we’re forever grateful; it’ll be worth the wait.
