I’m a minimalist..
when it comes to kitchen gadgets (clothes and shoes are a whole different story), but the copper turtle grater seems like a neat thing to have around. The sharp, hand carved blades are perfect for grating raw wasabi, ginger and I would imagine vegetables and cheese as well. The tail of the turtle can be used to hang it out of reach of little hands, while also showing it off as a fine piece of kitchen decor. Turtles symbolize longevity and stability in many cultures and this Japanese product is said to represent omotenashi, which is the idea of gracious hospitality carried out effortlessly. Form and function at its best.
