there’s an entire flea market dedicated to food? I sure as heck didn’t. Brooklyn Flea’s all-food market, Smorgasburg opened in Williamsburg on May 21st. It runs Saturdays from 10am – 5pm rain or shine. With over 100 vendors, The New York Times was right calling this outdoor market the “Woodstock of Eating”. With options like lobster rolls from Red Hook Lobster Pound, Porchetta sandwiches from Chef Sara Jenkins’ Porchetta and Nana’s Frozen Bananas it sounds like they pretty much nailed it. In addition, you’ll find packaged food, cooking demos, kitchenware, GrowNYC Greenmarket farmers, and much more. I have yet to go, but am thinking it’s definitely worth the trek across the bridge.
