Lapel Flowers

I’ve got to give credit..

J and HP Lapel Flowers

JandHP Lapel Flower

to my hubby for finding this one. Well, actually proper credit goes to Satorially Inclined, but he did bring these lapel flowers by JandHP to my attention. The hand-made button on flower is made of cotton, and is a detail that brings a subtle flair without being too bold. A husband and wife duo started JandHP, which is based out of Nashville. All of their goods are made in small quantities to ensure quality and originality. And not just for him, JandHP is a great place to hit up for the ladies too.

No. 92 Cash/Card Case

Not..

Billykirk No. 92 Cash/Card Case, $85.00

Billykirk No. 92 Cash/Card Case, $85.00

the first post we’ve done on Billykirk. A while back, we wrote about the  No. 165 Carryall from the highly respected leather company that was started in ’99 by two brothers. This time it’s their No. 92 Card/Cash Case that’s getting a write-up. With the great craftsmanship and a reasonable pricepoint, it’s no surprise this customizable (they’ll emboss up to three letters in between the snaps) case is one of their most popular items. It’s made with the front pocket in mind from waxed cording, German Prym snaps and nickel hardware with slots on both the interior. Simple, rugged and made in the USA…  how you like that?

Keller Fall/Winter 2011

I am definitely not ready..

Keller Fall/Winter 2011

Keller Fall/Winter 2011

for anything fall/winter, EXCEPT the collection by Keller. We’ve mentioned the brand on here before and I’ll say it again, there’s nothing more comfortable than a pair of Keller shoes. The designer, Kelly Clark, has style you’d want to steal, which is quite obvious from the easy to wear pieces. All of the clothing and shoes are American made, and as someone who loves to layer, seeing this fresh collection is really exciting.

Marbella Floral Two Tone Sundress

Introduced..

Built by Wendy Marbella Floral Two Tone Sundress, $245

Built by Wendy Marbella Floral Two Tone Sundress, $245

to Built by Wendy by three, the other half of threetwentyeight. It’s a clothing line that was established  in 1991 by Wendy Mullin, an independent designer with a great little shop in Little Italy/Chinatown neighborhood of New York. Since opening it’s doors, she’s gained a total following, which isn’t really a surprise since the line is full of great pieces that are super practical, happy and sure to be a closet fave for years to come.  Lots can be worn separately or as layers depending on the season.  One of my top picks right now is the Marbella Sundress.  The skirt length (hits below the knee), tie shoulder straps and elastic bodice are all details that remind me of sundresses I had as a kid.. love it!

Chemex Coffeemaker

This one’s..

Chemex Coffeemaker, $45

Chemex Coffeemaker, $45

for my dad. He’s a coffee guy and recently traded in his fancy high tech coffee maker for one of these old school Chemex Coffeemakers.  He’s convinced it brews the perfect cup of coffee in 4 minutes flat, and according to the Old Faithful Shop’s product description, he might be right.  It was made in 1939 by a famous inventor named Peter Schlumbohm out of heatproof borosilicate glass (with a wooden handle). They are fairly hard to come by, I found this one online at Old Faithful Shop, which makes sense seeing as the Vancouver based shop specializes in well-made, everyday products that when possible are hand-crafted – much like the Chemex Coffeemaker. It serves a purpose and is sure to outlive that teched out machine sitting on your kitchen counter.

Wooden Hammock

The perfect..

Adam Cornish’s Wooden Hammock

Adam Cornish’s Wooden Hammock

outdoor accesssory.  Hammocks are pretty much the ideal way to relax on lazy summer afternoons.  This updated version was made by Australian designer Adam Cornish out of plantation-grown plywood. Rumor has it the wood is actually quite comfortable and makes it way more ergonomically friendly. Outdoor swings for grown-ups, what’s not to love?

Radishes

The farmer’s market..

Farmer's Market Radishes

Farmer's Market Radishes

at the Renegade Craft Fair was filled with colorful veggies, fresh fruits, local honey and yummy snacks. My personal favorite were the radishes. Their vibrant color made me just want to nibble on one right on the spot! Not to mention, radishes have folic acid, potassium, ascorbic acid and plenty of vitamin B6. Really, what’s not to like? Here are a few recipes using the healthy root veggie as the main ingredient:

This glazed radish recipe is courtesy of Martha Stewart and is a really nice summer side dish.

A simple recipe from The Food Channel…radishes with sea salt.

Dagmar’s detox salad from Good Food.

Pickled radishes from The Kitchn, perfect on fish tacos. Enjoy!

If you..

Banana Ice Cream Sandwiches
Banana Ice Cream Sandwiches

haven’t heard of Veggie Wedgie, consider this your introduction. I have been minorly obsessed since coming across the blog – absolutely amazing photos and recipes with a healthy twist, but still totally delicous. I did a post not too long ago on the new (well, new to me) non-dairy ice cream –  chocolate-banana ice cream.   Veggie Wedgie  just made a good thing even better by sharing her recipe for Banana Ice Cream Sandwiches. They are light, dairy free and just might be the dessert of the season. Check out the recipe!
