Tulips on Market Street, carries a ton of local talent. A must-have for kitchens, or pretty much any room, are the hand-painted canvas  floor cloths done by local artist, Sarah Minor.  Cloth floormats have been around since the 18th century and are more popular than ever because not only do they add a great pop of color, they are so practical – easy to wipe, shake and sweep.  Minor creates each piece by hand and does custom orders as well, so if you can’t make it to town, check out her work on her web site.

Also at Tulips are these must-mention abacus calendars. Painted  by Dana Heacock, an artist in Maine. Each piece has a real New England feel and every month is different, so it’s a great way to refresh your walls on a regular basis.

If you’re looking for Le Creuset, hit LeRoux, they have pretty much every piece in every color imaginable.  Attrezzi has a ton of great gift options as well as a wonderful assortment of dishes, candles and home decor. Speaking of home decor, City & Country on Daniel Street is also a great place for contemporary kitchen and bath supplies. Lastly, you can’t visit Portsmouth and not go to Stonewall Kitchen.. love that place!
